Modern computers use LBA addressing to address sectors on a storage device, but some BIOSes and old operating systems require old CHS addressing method to be used. WinToFlash fully supports old CHS addressing method and provides you with CHS Policy option to fine tune it.
Write CHS values to the partition table. If partition is >8Gb write max CHS values. If File System is LBA-based one and partition is less than 8Gb, calculate CHS of LBA for compatibility.
Write MAX CHS, force to use LBA
Try this option if you experience booting difficulties. The cylinder, head and sector partition values will be set to maximum values 1023/255/63 to force Extended Int 13h LBA addressing. This options will force BIOS to use LBA instead of CHS on any size partition.
Write only zeroes
Try this option if you experience booting difficulties. The cylinder, head and sector partition values will be set to 0s. Some BIOSes needs this to force using LBA addressing on any size partition.
